2012 Audition Information for Brass and Woodwind Players (non-music majors) "WAITLIST"

I. Auditions Dates

Due to the high number of accepted members for the 2012 Laker Marching Band, we are only auditioning wind players for the "2012 Laker Marching Band WAITLIST" beginning May 21, 2012 and throughout the summer on your GVSU Summer Orientation Date. Please fill out the information below and include your Summer Orientation date.

**All students who submitted an "Audition Registration Form" or have already auditioned before Friday, May 18, 2012 are NOT on the "2012 Laker Marching Band WAITLIST" and have a spot reserved in the 2012 Laker Marching Band.

As the summer progresses, students on the waitlist will be given an opportunity to join the 2012 Laker Marching Band when postions become available. The "2012 WAITLIST" is based on the  day we receive your registration form. It is NOT based on instrument need.

 

II. Audition Registration Process

1.Subject Line in e-mail: "2012 Laker Marching Band WAITLIST Audition Registration"

2. Name

3. E-mail address

4. Phone numbers (cell and home - please indicate)

5. Instrument

6. High School attending

7. Have you been accepted to GVSU for Fall 2012?

8. GVSU Summer Orientation date (Audition will be held on that date after you have registered for classes - usually around 3:30-4:00pm)

Once we have received your registration information, you will be contacted to confirm your registration and given additional information.

III. Audition Music

The audition consists of: Sight Reading and a range check using the Bb Concert Scale. The audition will take approximately 10 minutes.

** GVSU provides school owned instruments for Mellophone, Baritone, & Sousaphone players ONLY!

 

IV. Auditions for Music Majors

Those auditioning for entrance into the GVSU Music Department as music majors must schedule their audition through the Music Office. More information concerning dates and audition can be found at www.gvsu.edu/music. Your audition will count as an audition for the Laker Marching Band.
