Below is a checklist of everything you need to do in order to complete the application process to be an RA!

Read the position description and decide if this position is for you.
Take the time to review the job benefits and learn how being an RA will add to your resume.
View the staff seleciton timeline for the selection process.
Attend an information session to learn more specifics about the job. There you'll get the chance to talk to current RAs and Living Center Directors.
Attend a Career Services Preparation Session to gain the competitive edge by perfecting your resume and learning how to best answer the essay questions.
Check out the Hear it from an RA page and read some testimonials from current and past RAs.
If you're sure the job is right for you, Apply for Housing!  This is a must to even be considered for the RA Job!  You must also select a placement after applying, just in case.
Make sure before you start the application, you finish your Resume and pre-answer the essay questions! 
(You'll want to prepare your answers to the essay questions in advance so you can copy and paste them into the application - below)

  1. What experiences have you had at Grand Valley that have inspired you to apply for this position?
  2. What do you hope to learn or gain from this position and how does it help you achieve your future goals?
  3. What have you done in the last year to grow in the area of intercultural competency? What areas do you think you still need to learn more about?
  4. Describe a time in your life where your viewpoint on a topic changed.
