“Being an RA is easily the best leadership opportunity on campus. I was originally led to the RA position through my involvement in Community Council and Residence Housing Association While it can be a stressful job, no other job on campus develops your leadership skills as well as the RA position does. It has significantly shaped what I want to do in my future career.”

“My experience as an RA has shaped just about every aspect of my life in a positive way. I had a chance to work on some very diverse staff teams, and I learned that the relationships we built were a reflection of our residents and our work performance. I think the best part of my job was helping and watching my residents grow, not only in their dorm community, but in the GVSU community as well. It was even better to see them branching out as a dorm into the greater GVSU community and joining clubs or taking part in events on campus. Through all of this, I was able to create unforgettable memories for both myself and more importantly, my residents.”
