Johnson Center Philanthropy Archives

The Archives is jointly managed by the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership and Grand Valley State Universities Libraries Special Collections & University Archives. The Archives was established to develop a scholarly resource of materials related to philanthropy and philanthropists in the State of Michigan. The Digital Collection contains highlights from the records of foundations, nonprofit organizations, and individuals, and published works about philanthropy.

Russell G. Mawby collection Speeches and field notes of Dr. Russell G. Mawby, the Chairman and CEO Emeritus of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation. The Mawby collection documents the accomplishments of a central leader in the statewide and national philanthropic fields during a pivital period of time in their history, beginning with the run-up to the Tax Reform Act of 1969 to the present day. Includes StoryCorps interview of Mawby.

Michigan Philanthropy Oral History Project (MPOHP) interviews The MPOHP was initiated in 2006 as an innovative partnership between the Council of Michigan Foundations, StoryCorps, Michigan Radio and the Dorothy A. Johnson Center for Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Grand Valley State University to create an oral history of Michigan philanthropy.
