In the wake of recent tragic events, the Black Faculty Staff Association, the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and other units across campus, stand in solidarity with the communities who are particularly impacted. As we continue to think about the victims and their families, we must also remember to be there for one another – on campus - to listen, support and comfort. Every day, during the week of July 11 - 15, there will be informal gatherings from noon – 1:00 p.m. in the Office of Multicultural Affairs, 1240 Kirkhof Center. Feel free to bring your lunch. This is a space for any faculty, staff or students who want to support and comfort one another.
In his speech, President Obama said "when incidents like this occur, there's a big chunk of our fellow citizenry that feels as if because of the color of their skin they are not being treated the same, and that hurts... that should trouble all of us.” He went on to emphasize that "this is not just a Black issue, it's not just a Hispanic issue — this is an American issue that we should all care about... [and] all fair minded people should be concerned."
On that note, we are united in our support for our community and striving for equity, justice, and, most importantly, care and love for all of you!

Ford LGBT Resource Center leaders believe that 'the current economic system does not serve the interests of the majority of people and that economic justice must be part of all our social justice work for the future'".
