Working in cooperation with Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) to provide the courses necessary for your degree, you can generally expect to:

  1. Complete an associate of arts (ASA) degree or the MACRAO at the community college using an NMC Transfer Guide
  2. Complete additional NMC courses that transfer into your GVSU major/minor
  3. Complete final GVSU sequence of courses

You will be challenged to develop skills, attitudes, and values critical to your success as a professional educator in Grand Valley's programs that lead toward teacher certification. In Traverse City, you can choose from the following programs:

  • Elementary Education with a Language Arts major
  • Elementary Education with a Social Studies major
  • Secondary Education with a English major; minor: History or Psychology
  • Secondary Education with a Social Studies major; minor: English or Psychology
