Working together to help you succeed in your education

Grand Valley State University and Muskegon Community College (MCC) work together to help you recieve a degree that takes you to the next step in your career. This means that you complete an Associate in Science & Arts at the community college and finish the remaining requirements for the undergraduate degree at Grand Valley State University.

Also, Grand Valley State University has created easy to follow curriculum guide for those undergraduate students transferring in from Muskegon Community College.  The guides are designed to assist students in choosing their classes prior to transferring to Grand Valley State University. Grand Valley offers its undergraduate and graduate courses on the campus of MCC in the Stevenson Center for Higher Education.

Degrees designed for the adult learner

Grand Valley and MCC are currently working on a new initiative to help nontraditional students earn degrees. The initiative is aimed primarily at adults in the Muskegon and Grand Haven areas who have already earned some college credit. The initiative will:

  • help adults earn a 4-year degree
  • help retrain the adult learner for the new economy
  • strengthen the relationship between the two institutions
  • help give students flexible degree programs to succeed in higher education

To read more about the new initiative, read the article in GVNow, Grand Valley's online news source.
