Advising
All students are encouraged to meet with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes to determine an appropriate plan of study. The Muskegon Regional Center has an advisor on site who is glad to assist you in the academic planning process.

Advisor at the Muskegon Regional Center can:

  • Provide academic planning advice and support
  • Explain university policies and procedures
  • Make referrals to appropriate academic resources including tutoring, disability support services, etc.
  • Help develop strategies for academic success

Students admitted to the University are assigned an advisor in their field of study. Students are encouraged to meet with their assigned advisors annually, but are welcome to meet with the general advisor located at Muskegon as well.

To determine your assigned advisor:

  • Log into My Banner
  • Click on Student and Financial Aid tab
  • Select Student Records
  • Select View Major and Advisor Information

Registration
Grand Valley State University begins the registration process each year in March for the Spring/Summer, Fall, and Winter semesters of the upcoming year.  Registration dates vary year to year and by class standing (seniors first, then juniors, etc.).  Check the
