Noontime Speaker Series Addresses Dating and Domestic Violence

The GVSU Meijer Campus in Holland is proud to host a series of professional development workshops on preventing dating and domestic violence. The series is offered  by the Women’s Center at Grand Valley State University, the Lakeshore Alliance Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and co-sponsored by GVSU’s Continuing Education Department and the Ottawa County Delta project.

 

Thursday, October 8: “Preventing Dating Violence” will be presented by Lesley Coghill, social worker for the Center for Women in Transition.

 Tuesday, November 17: “Mean Girls and Real Boys” will be presented by the MSU Extension team who will discuss bullying through the lens of gender and other differences.

The workshops are open to the public and free of charge. A certificate of completion will be available for attendees. CEUs for social workers will be available for a $15 dollar fee. Participants are encouraged to bring their lunches.
