As the Carnegie Foundation Classification describes, Curricular Engagement is:
- Institutions where teaching, learning, and scholarship engage faculty, students, and community in mutually beneficial and respectful collaboration.

- deepen students' civic and academic learning,
- enhance community well-being, and
- enrich the scholarship of the institution.
