Leadership University

The Student's Role

Leadership University is a student-driven program, meaning you will need to be dedicated to completing the program and making it meaningful for you.  As a Leadership University participant, it is up to you to choose activities which will advance your development and help you to get the most out of your experience.  The more effort you put in to your reflections and portfolio, the more insight you will gain from the program and the more impressive your completed e-portfolio will be.  Your faculty or staff mentor will be there to help guide and encourage you along the way.

The student’s responsibilities include:

  • Completing activities across campus or in the community
  • Writing quality reflections and submitting them to your mentor through the Leadership University website
  • Creating an e-portfolio and adding reflections and other materials
  • Meeting face-to-face with your mentor at least once each semester
  • Maintaining monthly email communication with your mentor
