GVSU Circle Receives the Superior Circle Award
from Omicron Delta Kappa

Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society awarded the Grand Valley State University Circle with the Superior Circle designation for the 2010-11 academic year. Circles qualify as a Superior Circle if they meet all standards and produce two or more campus-wide leadership events throughout the year. This is the second consecutive year the Grand Valley Circle has achieved the Superior Circle designation.
The GVSU Circle is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its chartering throughout 2011. The Circle hosted a reunion dinner with current members and alumni last March as part of the GVSU 50th Anniversary Celebration. This fall semester, the Circle will honor 20 "Faculty of Distinction" to commemorate the 20th anniversary and celebrate the ODK "Idea" of faculty/student collaboration, leadership, and service.
The National Leadership Honor Society for college students, recognizes and encourages superior scholarship, leadership and exemplary character. ODK® was founded December 3, 1914 at Washington and Lee University, Lexington Virginia, by 15 student and faculty leaders. Omicron Delta Kappa was the first college honor society of a national scope to give recognition for meritorious leadership and service in extracurricular activities. The Society is now present on the campuses of more than 300 colleges around the country.
