-College Positive Volunteer Training, October 27th – 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Mackinac Hall A1184
A College Positive Volunteer is a college student who is aware of how they impact the college readiness and enthusiasm of the youth they interact with as they volunteer in local communities. The CSLC conducts CPV trainings with the aim to prepare you to be an effective college resource for the K-12 youth you work with and to always have the a college-going mindset. -Help Plan Service & Advocacy Week! November 7th – 11th

-Strengths Based Leadership Seminar, November 3rd, 10th & 17th – 6:00 p.m. – 8:15 p.m. Kirkhof Center Room 2270
A 3-week workshop series on leading with your strengths, based on the StrengthsQuest assessment tool. Registration deadline: 10/28. Click here for more information and to register!
-Inclusion and Diversity Seminar, November 8th, 15th & 29th – 6:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. Kirkhof Center Room 2266
A 3-week workshop series on valuing and advocating for inclusion and diversity. Learn concepts of diversity as you are challenged by stereotypes that inhibit successful leadership and team development. This fall, the Inclusion and Diversity Seminar will be addressing the topics of diversity which include spirituality, Native Americans and our U.S. History, and global diversity. -Intermediate Leaders Institute, November 19th – 12:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
The Intermediate Leaders Institute (ILI) is a half-day mini-retreat that builds leadership skills for group facilitation and collaboration. This retreat is for groups and individuals to aid in the discovery of interpersonal leadership development, communication skills, networking on/off campus, team dynamics, networking skills, and inclusivity. -Alternative Breaks Info Night, November 8th – 8:00 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. Kirkhof Center Room 2204
There will be tables of all the trips that will be going out this winter and spring break (College of Education, too!). You will be able to find out details such as trip costs, types of sites, and how to sign up. There will also be an opportunity for Q&A. There will be a presentation from 8-8:30pm, followed by trip tables for the rest of the night. Click here for more information!
-Overnight Service Trip, November 18th – 19th – 4:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Our overnight service trip is designed for any student at GVSU. Three times a year we take 24 students out into the Grand Rapids area to make a difference in the community. Students enjoy getting to know new people while participating in an intense 24 hour experience packed with learning, fellowship, and service. Interested? Lib 100 Approved! The first Wednesday of every month is "I am Grand Valley" day. If you have previously been nominated for I AM GV wear your shirt on November 2nd! To nominate a student for I Am GV by December 9th click here!
-Join Leadership University!
Leadership University is a public forum for students to plan and showcase their development as leaders. Students at Grand Valley State University work with mentors, engage and reflect on development opportunities, build marketable e-portfolios, and earn recognition for their effort and growth.
