Leadership Internship Opportunity

Applications for the 2017-2018 academic year will be available mid-March

The Office of Student Life is looking for responsible, resourceful, innovative, and dedicated students to enhance the office’s growing leadership development program and support leadership development within student organizations. Leadership Interns will help coordinate and facilitate campus-wide leadership development opportunities including but not limited to the First Year Leadership Experience, StrengthsQuest workshop series, Venderbush Leadership Connection, the student organization workshop series, IGNITE, and Campus Life Night. This position helps with the promotion of programs, collaboration with campus partners, facilitation of program content, and assessment and evaluation of the programs. Interns will also be available for consultations with student leaders regarding their groups and organizations. This is a 10 hours/week internship and can be taken for class credit.


Minimum Qualifications: Excellent communication skills both oral and written, ability to work effectively with diverse student populations, strong organizational abilities and time management skills, ability to be creative and innovative, demonstrated leadership skills, and self-motivation, must be able to make a full year commitment


Mandatory Dates and Time Expectations:

  • Internship Orientation (One Day in Late April)
  • Leadership Internship Training (a Wednesday-Friday in mid-August)
  • Weekly Team Meetings: Determined based on the schedule of the interns
  • Weekly Office Hours: Determined based on schedule of the interns
  • Assigned events & time on your own to accomplish assignments as needed
