Laker Leader Recognition

Grand Valley students interested in embarking on a leadership adventure and experiencing leadership from an individual, group, and societal vantage points should work through all of the Laker Leadership Programs. By completing the Laker Leadership Programs, you will receive recognition as an established Grand Valley leader. Leadership recognition is a highlight to potential employers and demonstrates your dedication in building a solid foundation of leadership skills. Program graduates will be recognized at the annual Student Life Recognition Celebration in April and receive a certificate of participation. Graduating seniors who have participated in at least two of the Laker Leadership Programs will receive a leadership pin (pictured below).  Students are encouraged to wear their pins on their commencement regalia during graduation. 

• First Year Leadership Exploration (fall and winter semesters)
• Intermediate Leaders Institute (fall semester)
• Community Leader Seminar (winter semester)
• Leadership Certificates- multiple topics (fall and winter semesters)
  

Levels of Leadership

BRONZE: Completion of TWO of the Core Leadership Programs

SILVER: Completion of THREE of the Core Leadership Programs

GOLD:  Completion of FOUR Core Leadership Programs or THREE of the Core Leadership Programs and Leadership Summit

PLATINUM: Completion of FOUR Core Leadership Programs, Leadership Summit, and other leadership electives such as the Venderbush Leadership Reception and Student Leader Networking Reception.
