Leadership Certificates

Leadership Certificates offer students the opportunity to earn non-credit certification in a range of leadership and management topics. Topics range from communication to inclusion, but vary on an annual basis to address student needs and interests. Participants complete a series of thematic workshops (typically 3) and other requirements specific to the certificate such as:

  • A brief pre-assessment of skills prior to the workshop series
  • Reflection questions at the conclusion of each workshop
  • A brief post-assessment of skills at the conclusion of the workshop series, and
  • A knowledge assessment at the conclusion of the workshop series.
Starting in Fall 2009, two leadership certificates will be offered each
semester.


Fall 2009 Leadership Certificates

Communication Leadership Certificate: 
Required workshops: 10/6, 10/13, 10/20 2:00-4:00 p.m. Kirkhof Center, 2266

Description: A 3-week workshop series on effective communication skills for leaders focusing on public, small group, and interpersonal communication.


Inclusion and Diversity Leadership Certificate:
Required workshops: 11/4, 11/11, 11/18 6:00 - 8:30 p.m. Kirkhof Center 2201 & 1142.
Description: A 3-week workshop series on valuing and advocating for inclusion and diversity. Learn concept of diversity as you are challenged by stereotypes that inhibit successful leadership and team development.
