Undergraduate and graduate students (as well as faculty and staff) are encouraged to check out the following opportunities:
Facilitator for First Year Leadership Experience (FYLE)
Approximately 5 upperclassmen are selected each semester to serve as small group facilitators for the 6 week leadership program FYLE held in both the fall and winter semesters. Applications become available in mid-August to early-September for the fall semester, and mid-November for the winter semester. FYLE graduates are encouraged to apply.
*Training for FYLE Winter 2016 Facilitators will be held on Tuesday, January 19 from 6:30-8:30pm. Attendance at the training and the six sessions is required. Winter 2016 dates: 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, and 3/1. Leadership Summit Planning Board
Approximately 10 students are selected each year plan GVSU's annual state-wide premier leadership conference and campus tradition held annually in February. Applications are available in the Fall and selection will happen in the Fall semester. If interested, please fill out the application on orgsync. Present an Educational Session at Leadership Summit
Seasoned student leaders are encouraged to submit a program proposal for a 50-minute presentation. The Call for Programs will become available late November and will close early January. You can find out more information here.
I am Grand Valley Volunteer
Volunteers are needed to promote the I am Grand Valley campaign, staff information tables, and assist with many aspects of the I am Grand Valley Reception and other events. Contact the I am Grand Valley Staff Assistant to get involved.
Nominate a fellow student for I am Grand Valley!
Nominate students who display and utilize strong leadership skills that contribute to the campus and beyond.
Undergraduate students can apply to serve as an intern to gain valuable experience and academic credit (optional, and depending upon major/minor). Interns assist with programs and events coordinated by the Laker Leadership Programs.

Leadership Development Staff Assistant
I am Grand Valley Staff Assistant
The LLP employs a two student employees that assist with events such as Venderbush Leadership Reception, Student Leader Networking Reception, and the I am Grand Valley Campaign as well as provide support for related projects. Recruiting and hiring student staff is done in conjunction with the Office of Student Life. Application materials are typically due prior to Spring Break and hiring decisions are made prior to the end of the Winter semester. For more information, refer to the Office of Student Life.

Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Honor Society
Junior or senior standing with a GPA of 3.3 or higher. Leadership opportunities to serve as an executive board member and the Chair of the Case Study Competition for Leadership Summit.
Sigma Alpha Lambda National Leadership Honor Society for sophomores with a 3.0 or higher.
