Grand Rapids Cohort Starting Fall 2014

Getting Started

Your first step will be to meet with an academic advisor. Our advisors are dedicated to helping you reach your educational goals and will be able to:

  • Explain the goals and outcomes of the 19-month leadership program
  • Review transcripts (please bring an unofficial copy to your first appointment)
  • Discuss support and other services available throughout the program
  • Assist with the admissions and financial aid process

You'll continue to work with your advisor throughout the program to schedule courses, plan internships, explore career options, and plan for graduation.

Applying to GVSU

The Leadership Cohort is designed for students with junior standing, so new students will either be applying as a transfer student or be returning to GVSU after some time away.

Transfer Students

The admissions process and requirements are the same for leadership cohort students as it for any transfer student. You can view admissions requirements, complete an online application, or download a paper application at Grand Valley's admissions page.

Returning GVSU Students

If you've attended GVSU in the past, but haven't been enrolled in two or more semesters, the process to return is simple! If you left in good academic standing, simply call the Registrar's Office at 616-331-3327 and tell them you'd like to return to Grand Valley! If you did not leave in good standing, you'll need to complete a petition to return form.

If you have questions on this process, please do not hesitate to contact the Center for Adult and Continuing Studies at  616-331-7180
