Latin American Studies

LAS CHICAGO TRIP

Time: 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Location: CHICAGO

In recognition of the importance of Latino roots and cultural diversity, the Latin American Studies program is taking students to Chicago for a day excursion to visit and tour the Museum of Mexican Art and the Puerto Rican Museum of Art.  We will have lunch there, as well. We'll leave GVSU, Kirkhoff Center at 7am and will return to GVSU, Kirkhoff Center by 7pm the same day.  (See details below.)

STUDENTS DO NOT NEED TO BE LAS MINORS TO GO. 

 To secure a spot, participants and students must sign up in the Area Studies Office (LOH 117). The cost of the trip is 5$. 

Students can give their deposit there or pay on the day we leave on Saturday, March 22nd

ITINERARY - Saturday, March 22nd

7am - Leave Kirkhoff Center
10am – Tour of Museum of Mexican Art (Guided Tour)
11:30/Noon – Lunch (Location TBD)

1:00pm – Tour Puerto Rican Museum of Art (Not Guided)
3:00pm - Leave for GVSU
7:00pm - Arrive at Kirkhoff Center
