MANAGING STRESS WITH EXERCISE

Participation in aerobic exercise can help elevate mood and reduce feelings of anxiety.

Some simple ideas to get you moving to reduce the feelings of stress in your life:

  • Stretching exercises
  • Aerobic activities such as walking, running, dancing, biking, hiking, and inline skating
  •  
  • Tai Chi or yoga
  • Recreational sports, especially team-oriented sports that incorporate a social component
  • Get involved in a running or cycling group in the community
  • Set a goal and train for a local race.  A calendar of races in Michigan can be found here
