DRUG ABUSE

There are a lot of reasons people start taking drugs. Whether it is a way to cope with a problem, an urge to fit in, or simply out of curiosity-it can all lead to an addiction.

At first people may use drugs to feel good. It becomes far more problematic when individuals feel they have to use drugs to feel normal.

A person may have developed an addiction when…

  • They have developed a tolerance for the substance, and require increasing amounts to satisfy them.
  • Individuals begin to feel sick and develop withdrawal symptoms due the absence of that substance in their system.
