Myesha Gholston is the Director of the Laker Academic Success Center. Myesha graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management and Human Resources from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (Cal Poly) and a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from National University in LaJolla, California.

How Myesha Stays Organized: Myesha utilizes a notebook that she takes EVERYWHERE to keep track of her commitments. She writes down everything she needs to remember and then makes "to do" lists to help her complete her work. If you prefer using pen and paper to take notes stop by the office and talk to Myesha about her organization methods!

Marianne Fischer serves as an Academic Advisor in the Laker Academic Success Center. Marianne graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Grand Valley State University and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. Marianne has worked at GVSU since 2003 and was previously an advisor in the Seidman College of Business. She is excited to be part of the Laker Academic Success Center team!

How Marianne Stays Organized: Marianne loves planners!! Her most detailed planner is online in her email via Outlook. That has all of her work appointments, events for her daughter as well as any other outside of work events. It is color coded for different appointments and events. She uses that for weekly and monthly planning and accesses it constantly throughout the day. Marianne also has a paper planner that she uses as a to-do list for the week. If you like to be creative and think that using a planner would work best for you, stop by the office and see how Marianne can help you keep up with all of the moving parts in your life!
