Veta Tucker as Mrs. Elisha S. Robinson

At the Grand Rapids Public Museum's Civil War Day January 14, Veta Tucker appeared as Mrs. Elisha S. Robinson, wife of an African American Civil War veteran. Veta spoke to an audience of adults and students about Elisha Robinson's military service. Robinson was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Robinson lived in Lowell when he enlisted in the 102nd US Colored Troops. After returning home from the War, Robinson became a physician and practiced in Branch County and Fremont, Indiana. He is buried in Clear Lake Cemetery in Montcalm County, Michigan.
