Mission: To collect & preserve local history and make it available to the public.


Skill Sets Required:

*Writing Skills
*Organization Skills
* The student intern must have an interest in the museum field, a passion for learning and preserving history.  


Upcoming Projects/Needs:
* The student intern could possibly have to digitize and re-type interviews from the South Kent Newspaper from the 1930’s-present and assemble them into a book.  
*The student intern could possibly work on putting together a census index for surrounding townships.
*The student intern would also organize photo collections and make into digital copies or CD’s.  
*The student intern would digitize high school annuals from Caledonia Township from 1970’s-present and put them on a CD available to the public.  
*The student intern might also visit the Grand Rapids Public Library to print micro-film from the South Kent Newspaper and assemble into a book for public use at the KDL-Caledonia Branch.  
The Caledonia Historical Society will provide/train in the following areas:
*The student intern will learn to work with micro-film and gain a deeper knowledge of the local history of West Michigan.
The Kutsche Office will provide/train in the following areas:
*Archival Logistic DVD Lectures/Training Manual
*The application process & interview process
