Within the United States as a whole, and certainly within the juvenile justice community, issues surrounding LGBTQI people are coming to light at a rapid pace.  In an effort to address the growing number of questions regarding treatment and placement of this population, the Juvenile Justice Vision 20/20 Executive Team is pleased to present “LGBTQI Youth: Queer Criminology, Building Safety and Legal Updates”.  At this training event, participants will have an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the issues facing LGBTQI youth, their role in the juvenile justice system, and will be provided tangible treatment resources. Click here for speaker bios and workshop information.

Please note: While the overarching theme of this training is related to the information presented during the June Training event, this is an entirely separate training.  A basic review of the language and terms may be presented, but overlap of content with earlier training material will be limited. For registrants who were unable to attend the June Training event, session summaries and materials can be found at: https://www.gvsu.edu/juvenilejusticevision2020/june-2017-training-event-35.htm.
