Bio

Samuel VanGroningen, research coordinator, plays a key role in supporting all aspects of research, from development and design to implementation and program deployment. Sam has a key role in coordinating the efforts of major collaborative partners, including software developers, Out of School Time Providers, and other community stakeholders.

Prior to joining the team at CRI, Sam had been managing research projects that studied substance abuse and mental heath treatment outcomes, housing/homelessness, and the effectiveness of various treatment models here in Kent County.

Sam received his bachelor's degree in sociology from Calvin College and is pursuing a master's degree in social work at Grand Valley State University.
