Bio

Liz has a Master’s of Social Work from Grand Valley State University, with a focus on generalist practice. She completed her field placement at D.A. Blodgett-St. John’s Home in the Kent School Service Network (KSSN) from 2011-12 providing both clinical and organizational support to the program. Prior to working at the Community Research Institute as a Research Coordinator, Liz taught secondary and post-secondary school focusing on curriculum development, disadvantaged populations, and students with learning disabilities. Additionally, she has worked to improve programming targeted at students who are underprepared for college coursework in three subject areas (mathematics, psychology, and science) by creating, improving, and exploring curriculum with client populations. 

As a research coordinator, Liz focuses mostly on place-based evaluation, as well as, assisting with all aspects of the research and evaluation process: project design, data collection, data analysis, reporting, and collaborating with community members. She excels at communication between partners, organization of large projects goals, and problem solving.
