The Nonprofit Leadership Institute (NLI) is a resource for nonprofit organizations, their leadership, staff, and volunteers.  The Nonprofit Leadership Institute provides services to organizations in the counties of Allegan, Ionia, Kent, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, and Ottawa.

The Nonprofit Leadership Institute provides training opportunities in the following areas. Find out more information about each by clicking on the calendar above.
Certificate in Fundraising Management from The Fund Raising School at Indiana University: Through the Johnson Center, development professionals can complete the required courses for certification in two years at sites within the state of Michigan. In November of 2009 we will be offering Developing Major Gifts.

Encore: Coming of Age Learning Lab aims to help you apply new strategies to strengthen your capacity to achieve your mission, by utilizing the skills and expertise of people aged 50+ as they transition from a midlife career to one of "encore work".  Learn how to engage skilled people 50+ who can assist you with everything from legal matters to web design and gain insights from being part of a learning collaborative with colleagues from other organizations.  For information on how your organization can participate, contact Melvene Tardy 616-331-6404.

EXPERTISE AND RESOURCES WITHIN GRAND VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
Service Learning: The Johnson Center supports the work of the Community Service Learning Center. The CSLC helps students, staff, and faculty create and find service opportunities in the community, network with local non-profit agencies, and support faculty with academic service-learning needs.

The CSLC welcomes submissions for regularly occurring and event specific volunteer service opportunities in both Ottawa and Kent Counties.
 
American Humanics: 
The American Humanics Program at Grand Valley State University prepares students and community members for professional positions in community-based organizations.

The School of Public and Nonprofit Administration's Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Leadership offers local nonprofit managers the professional skills and perspectives required to do their work more effectively in the rapidly changing nonprofit sector of society.
