About the Encore Program

Experienced adults are a growing but largely untapped resource for addressing community issues. That’s the premise behind an emerging national movement to engage adults in the boomers and beyond age group in purposeful volunteer or paid work.

Grand Rapids Community Foundation’s Encore is leading the call to engage experienced adults as a vital force for community change. The Johnson Center for Philanthropy is proud to be their training partner in offering the Coming of Age ® Learning Lab to organizations across Michigan.
