Customized Services

We provide services to enhance the impact of foundations nationally and nonprofit organizations regionally, improve the quality of community decision-making in West Michigan, and develop the habit of civic engagement among students and faculty at Grand Valley State University.

Capacity Building and
Technical Assistance

Our Nonprofit Services provide one-to-one coaching opportunities which could involve help with strategic planning, fundraising planning, board development, or volunteer management, among others. We also provide direct capacity building services to nonprofit organizations in the areas of fund development, volunteer development, and board development.  Nonprofit Services staff are available to answer your questions and connect you with the services or tools you need to be successful.

    

Customized Grantmaker Education

The Grantmaking School provides customized grantmaking courses on key areas of fundamental and advanced grantmaker skill development.  Our courses are designed for individual foundations who seek to cultivate a specific culture of effectiveness. Through our nationally recognized team of expert grantmaking and curriculum development practitioners, we can create courses tailored to meet your foundation's needs.

 

    

Data Services

Our Community Research Institute aims to establish an open data warehouse that simplifies effective management of information while offering quick dissemination of accurate, well organized, and secure data.

We offer a safe and reliable location for data storage while being processed for application.

Program Evaluation

Our Community Research Institute offers in-depth appraisal of organization's programs to identify their existing strengths and weaknesses, and analyze undiscovered potential. We give nonprofit foundations and community organizations a step back, to look inward, and assess their productivity. Our program evaluation services aim to map the most productive and efficient route of action while educating clients in professional community service.

Our Community Research Institute works closely with community nonprofits, philanthropic foundations, and local governments to make meaningful, relevant, up-to-date data readily accessible to the public in a user-friendly format.
