Installation requires a telephone work order and management approval for AP/faculty. Vice President approval is required for all others. Submit a work order through the telecommunications website.
Moves, Adds, & Changes:
Alterations to a phone setup are accomplished via submitting a work order through GVSU Telecommunications Web site at: http://www.gvsu.edu/it/telco/?action=home.workorder
Repair:
If your phone does not work properly, submit a trouble ticket through the telecommunications website at http://www.gvsu.edu/it/telco/?action=home.repair or dial the Campus Operator (0).
Long Distance Dialing:
Some campus phones do not permit long distance dialing. Those phones emit an error (or warble) tone when long distance calls are attempted.
Direct Dial: Dial 9+1+area code+number.
Operator Assistance: Dial 9+0+area code+number. An operator may intercept the call, respond as follows: "I would like to place a calling card call. My credit card number is"
Toll Free Calling:
To call a toll free number - dial 9+1+8xx+number.
To reach information for toll free numbers - dial 9+1+8xx-555-1212.
International Calling:
To place overseas calls - dial 9+0+11+country code + city code + local number.
