Top Student IT Frequently Asked Questions

Students can log into the GV-Student Wi-Fi Network from anywhere on campus. If you have never connected your device to the Wi-Fi or if you are having difficulties connecting, visit www.gvsu.edu/it/wifi for in-depth instructions on how to connect your device and for help troubleshooting.   

Knowing how to print whether you are on campus or off is important. There are resources available to you whether you are on or off campus.

Wireless devices like smart TVs, gaming consoles, and smart home devices must be registered in order to connect to the GV-Gamenet WiFi. To learn how to register yours, visit www.gvsu.edu/it/registerdevice.

If your device will be using a wired Internet connection you will not need to register, just connect your device to an active port in your dorm via ethernet cable.

Information Technology wants you to interact safely online.  This includes helping protect you from digital predators. If you experience an attack or potential threat, you can report it here. To view an updated list of attempts and attacks, visit the Reported Phishing & Scams webpage. 

As a student, you have access to all the Microsoft 365 Applications. Head to gvsu.edu/it/microsoftoffice to learn how to download the applications to your personal device.
