All GVSU faculty and staff may request a personal web page.
- Requests for web space may be sent to helpdesk@gvsu.edu.

- Web pages may not be used for commercial purposes
Access to modify this account is restricted to "on campus" computers. If you wish to work on your web page from home, either dial in through the campus modem pool, or contact the Computing and Technology Support Help Desk (616-331-2101) and ask for a VPN-Office account. "VPN" is a program that connects your computer to campus and makes other computers think that your computer IS on campus.
The web account is a UNIX account and the file names are case sensitive. It is recommended that you do NOT use spaces in your file names.
Your homepage must be named either index.htm or index.html (all lower case).
You can use a FTP program to copy the files you need to update to your computer, make the changes on the file on your computer, then use the FTP program to copy the file back to the web server. Instructions using Core FTP
If you are using Dreamweaver, configure it to log into your userid; there's no need to specify a directory path because you will be placed immediately into your directory.
The FTP host names are faculty.gvsu.edu or staff.gvsu.edu
