Description
Over the weekend of July 7-9, Grand Rapids will play host to over 3,000 Hindus hailing from the Indian state of Maharashtra (which includes Mumbai) as they gather for a conference that will focus on issues important to them. In an effort to engage the greater community & share some of their cultural & spiritual heritage, they will perform what is known as "Granth Dindi." This will be a colorful parade featuring dancers, drummers & other entertainers.
The "Granth Dindi" will begin on Saturday, July 8, at 8 am in front of DeVos Place & end at VanAndel Arena by 9 am.
This will be the 1st time that such an event has ever taken place in the United States. Members of all faith traditions are invited to share the joy.
