Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies Advising
The Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies (BCoIS) values liberal learning, a collegial, collaborative environment, cultural diversity and diversity of thought and ideas, engagement with our local and global communities, and risk-taking and innovation.
Interdisciplinary work integrates knowledge, modes of thinking, and experiences from two or more disciplines. This rigorous examination of real world problems and issues from multiple perspectives involves both depth and application of knowledge. We partner with talented and passionate faculty from across Grand Valley to challenge students to achieve. The Brooks College offers both academic programs as well as University-wide service programs that blend knowledge with experience.
The Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies houses four academic majors and seven minors. Academic advising for these majors and minors is offered by faculty members within each individual program. Frederick Meijer Honors College offers general advising for Honors students regardless of major. Advising services provided for regional site students are available through the regional campuses, or through the student's academic major.
