Special Associate to the Vice President for Inclusion and Equity
The Special Associate is a senior-level position in the division,
serves on the division senior leadership team, and reports directly to
the Vice President for Inclusion and Equity. The successful candidate
will support on-campus and off-campus engagement activities that
further the work of the Vice President, manage an array of special
projects on behalf of the Vice President, represent the Vice President
both on campus and in the community, and oversee operational,
personnel and budget functions for the division. The successful
candidate will both have strengths in relational dynamics, working
with a variety of communities and all personnel, and administrative
functions, such as project or program management.
Director, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity
& Equity Officer
Seeking an experienced and collaborative leader to oversee its
Affirmative Action and Equal Employment Opportunity program as the
Director, Affirmative Action/EEO & Equity Officer. Requires a
graduate degree in higher education, law, social work human resources
or closely related field and at least 3 years of professional work
experience in legal, regulatory, federal/state compliance, human
resources, Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity, Title VI
and Title VII. The successful candidate will report to the Assistant
Vice President in the Division of Inclusion and Equity.
Social Justice Educator/Coordinator
Seeking a dynamic, visionary, and collaborative leader to serve
as its inaugural Social Justice Educator/Coordinator who will support
the coordination of training and education for students, faculty, and
staff in partnership with colleagues across the university. The
successful candidate will report to the Associate Vice Provost in the
Division of Inclusion and Equity. Located in the Greater Grand Rapids,
Michigan area, Grand Valley State University offers high quality
programs and state-of-the-art facilities which attracts more than
25,000 students from across the country and around the world. The
mission of the Division of Inclusion and Equity is to advance GVSU’s
social justice framework for equity and inclusion. The division
coordinates sustainable and strategic institutional efforts to engage
all members of the community while also intentionally supporting and
advocating for historically underrepresented communities. The
division’s work furthers the university's liberal education and
student-centered mission.
Director, Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center
The Milton E. Ford LGBT Resource Center is one of 5
identity-based Centers in the Division of Inclusion and Equity.
The Division seeks a new Director who will help educate, support and
empower students to lead authentic lives, to challenge systems of
gender and sexuality, and to work for social justice. The Director
oversees daily functions of the Center including two additional
professional staff members, a Graduate Assistant, and several
undergraduate student employees. A Master’s degree and 5 years of
experience in student affairs administration or related higher
education experience is required, in addition to demonstrated
understanding of LGBTQIA issues, social justice frameworks, and the
intersections of identities and oppression, including transgender
identified people and people of color.
Disability Resources Administrator
Disability Support Resources, one of 5 identity-based Centers in
the Division of Inclusion and Equity, is seeking applications for the
position of Disability Resources Administrator. Experience working
with and understanding persons with disabilities. Able to assess the
needs of student, faculty and staff related to transportation and
alternative testing and coordinate transportation services for
faculty, staff and students registered with Disability Support
Resources. Needs to possess working knowledge of the ADAAA and Section
504 of the Rehabilitation Act. Master’s degree and at least 2 years of
experience in higher education, public administration, or related
field; or an equivalent of education/experience combination that
sufficiently meets the education/experience requirements. See our
