Leadership Positions

AHMI Liaison
|
|
Acts as the liaison between AH students and the national office in regards to information and questions concerning the national conference. Is responsible for reading and disseminating information to students, as well as helping with travel arrangements to AHMI and taking on a leadership role at the conference.
|

Volunteer & Community Outreach Coordinator
|
|
Responsible for coordinating at least five volunteer opportunities each year for AH students. Also responsible for disseminating information on community advocacy issues and using the AH newsletter and BB site to inform students of community volunteer opportunities. Tracks students' volunteer hours.

|
Fundraising Coordinator
|
|
Responsible for creating, coordinating and soliciting volunteers for fundraising events to support students' expenses at the national conference. This includes researching grants, creating and planning events, and drafting fundraising letters.
|

|
Event Planning Coordinator
|
|
Responsible for one networking event per year with the GVSU Nonprofit Advisory Board. Updates the NAB biannually on the progress of the program, and coordinates the dissemination of information from NAB meetings to AH students. Brings one or more speakers to campus. Also is responsible for planning an end of the year event (with the help of the FUndraising and Campus Recruitment Coordinators) to recognize graduating seniors, leaders within the organization, and community and campus supporters. The event will have a fundraising component that should serve as the premier fundraising event for AH.

Technology
|
|
Responsible for updating AH website under the direction of the AH Director. Duties may include: attending trainings, updating information, crating graphics, and working with university and community personnel to coordinate information and links. May work with Fundraising team to seek out grants and/or a fundraising arm of the site.

Marketing Coordinator
|
|
Creates and coordinates quarterly display cases in Kirkhof. Coordinates AH advertising on GVSU calendar, web ads, and banners in DC and Commons. Attends spring recognition committee meetings to insure adequate publicity. Acts as a liaison between all campus leadership positions to ensure events are promoted. Works on improving newsletter. Writes one press release per semester for the Lanthorn. Reviews current AH marketing documents and suggest changes to increase effectiveness. Know that all duties are pivotal in increasing the knowledge of American Humanics on campus and in local high schools. Marketing Coordinator also works closely with the American Humanics Graduate Assistant.

Alumni Relations Coordinator
|
|
Updates and expands the listing of graduate schools for AH studnts. Increases resources related to professional positions and internship offerings. Works to produce student-friendly resources both online and in hard copy format.

|
New Member Orientation Coordinator
|
|
Contacts all prospective members to answer questions. Works with marketing and on-campus recruitment coordinators to recruit and retain new members. Holds new member orientation at least monthly. Acts as the liaison between AH staff and new students for questions, comments, and concerns.

Leadership Development Coordinator
|
|
Keeps all memebrs informed of leadership development opportunities on campus through the Humanics weekly email, website and newsletter. Informs members of speakers, workshops, and conferences. Runs small leadership develpoment modules at Humanics meetings (one/semester). Sends out leadership development worksheets for personal development of individual members.
