Hospitality and Tourism Management Club is a networking opportunity to meet and mingle with not only other HTM majors at Grand Valley but professionals in the industry. Our events are a mixture of every aspect of the hospitality world, exploring every industry to get everyone involved. We encourage those interested in hospitality to come learn from guest speakers who are industry professionals, as well as to explore the local hospitality culture we have here in Grand Rapids. We are not a HTM exclusive club! If you are interested in any events, please feel free to bring a friend and come hang out and learn more! Some of this year’s events include: Pumpkin Patch, Art Prize Walk, Hotel and Restaurant Nights, as well as a relaxing movie night. We have events with both PCMA and MPI this year! Come hang out and get to meet professionals and peers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry!
Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is starting their third year at GVSU. By joining, you will have opportunities to go to local a meeting and conferences that will include educational sessions as well as networking opportunities. We are focusing on developing individuals for the professional world by giving opportunities to fully immerge in the vibrant hospitality industry we will be working in. In addition to conferences and meetings, MPI will have some bonding activities and trips to volunteer. Come join the fun and better yourself as a business professional!
The Professional Convention Management Association at GVSU is going on its fifth year in action. We are excited to be building the club in efforts to help future event and meeting professionals understand the current trends and learn from what is happening now in the industry. Every year the Grand Valley chapter of PCMA has the chance to attend the national conference. In years past, places have included Las Vegas, San Diego, Orlando and Boston. This upcoming January, we will be attending the conference in Chicago! Fundraising opportunities occur regularly to aid in assistance for attending. This awesome conference gives students the chance to network with current business professionals while learning innovative techniques and exploring possible business opportunities. We are excited to announce that 2014 marks the first year that we are an official student chapter of the PCMA Greater Midwest Chapter.
