The Performance Development Program (ePDP) is a communication program to help staff members understand their roles, continue to learn, and participate in the improvement of Grand Valley State University. The substance of the program is its basis of trust in staff members and communication between staff members and supervisors.
The new ePDP is paperless and features electronic format, automatic flow of forms between staff and supervisor, and expanded rating levels and university competencies.  Not only does this support the University's goal of becoming more sustainable, the performance assessment process will be easier than ever. The ePDP continues to concentrate on practices that will best utilize our time and resources. This involves reconsidering traditional belief systems about performance appraisal, how staff members work, and what inspires them.
The ePDP is completed annually by staff and supervisors. The program starts with an Annual Planning document and is completed with a Final Assessment that reflects performance over the past year.  For Administrative/Professional Staff, evaluations are also a basis for merit increases in salary.
