Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Manage multiple databases to meet the information needs of the Kirkhof College of Nursing (KCON) and oversee coordination of the L: Drive.
  • Consult with Administration, faculty, and staff to assess data needs, determining which information is critical to the efficient operation of the college.
  • Responsible for database data entry, maintenance, management and report retrieval for multiple complex database systems, including (but not limited to) Adjunct Faculty and Overload; Faculty Assignment Scheduling; Master mailing list; NCLEX results, various student cohorts.
  • Using data bases, provide information needed for internal and external reports or surveys, including those for Academic Programs, annual reports to the American Association of Colleges of Nursing and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and other reports or surveys as requested.
  • Provide support for the Clinical Placement Consortium, managing input from multiple schools and practice partners participating in the consortium to ensure coordinated placement of students.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to database users through workshops, private consultation, and/or written instructions.
  • Manage evaluation/survey processes, to include clinical site evaluation, employee and alumni surveys.
  • Serve as communications link between College and internal and external contacts, providing information and assistance as appropriate to job related factors.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of data management to inform college processes and policies.
  • Manage the development of the KCON website, ensures accuracy and clarity, and provides general oversight.
  • Provide support for Evaluation Committee including preparing correspondence, agendas, meeting minutes and record keeping.
  • May train, supervise and/or evaluate performance of student workers assigned to area of responsibility.
  • Share responsibility with other PSS’s to cover the KCON main office as needed.
  • Other duties as requested.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive intercultural and interpersonal relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and               attendance records.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Typing and spelling competency.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully to use various computer software applications.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.
  • Excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
  • Demonstrated experience to successfully perform mathematical calculations with speed and accuracy.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Some college course work.
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with accounting software applications.
  • Accounting experience.

Supervision Received:

Receives general instruction from a designated supervisor, but is generally expected to work independently. 

Supervision Exercised:

Hire, train, supervise, schedule and coordinate the work of student employees and may act as lead worker to other PSS staff members within the department/unit/division.
