Perform a variety of technical and non-technical jobs in order to process Course Reserve materials for both on and off campus sites. |

Primary Duties & Global Responsibilities: |

Receives a variety of Course Reserve materials to process and determines manner of processing. |
|
|
Responsible for materials sent off to off-campus GVSU and non- GVSU sites (Holland, MCC, Alpena, Benton Harbor, Traverse City, Lawrence, Harrison, etc.) and making sure they are returned. |
| |
Catalog when needed and process all Course Reserve materials. |
| |
Create and update WWW links (Course Reserve webmaster) |
| |
Keep abreast of software developments by the major E-Journal vendors in order to implement their systems into GVSUs reserve system. |
| |
Maintain files for copied materials and apply for US Copyright Compliance as required. |
| |
Coordinate, train, and monitor the work of other COT staff assisting with Course Reserve processing. |
| |
Devise and maintain a "Course Reserve Procedures" manual as new technology requires. |
| |
Help instruct faculty, staff, and students on the use of Electronic Reserve. |
| |
Responsible for daily balancing of the cash register. |
| |
Other related duties as assigned. |

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities: |

Provide assistance at the Circulation desk and circulate library materials to library patrons. |
| |
Responsible for Stack maintenance and computerized reports. |
| |
Receive and record payments for library charges. |
| |
Responsible for opening and closing the building, handling emergency and security situations, and reporting building problems to the appropriate agencies. |
| |
Perform a variety of routine library tasks regarding the maintaining of a library collection in good order. |
| |
Perform routine clerical tasks such as typing, sorting, filing, handling mail, etc. |
| |
Perform routine library office work using a pc and programs designed for library functions. |
| |
Assist patrons in the usage of the library when necessary. |
| |
Order supplies for the department. |
| |
Supervise student employees. |
| |
|
|
Minimum Required Qualifications : |
| |
High school graduate. |
| |
Minimum of three years experience of library Course Reserves or equivalent experience and/or relevant training. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully work under pressure and meet deadlines. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain positive interpersonal relationships. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully operate office equipment. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully provide quality customer service. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully maintain satisfactory work performance and
attendance records. |
| |
Possess strong verbal and written communication skills. |
| |
Type 40 wpm; spelling competency (minimum 80% accuracy). |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully work independently, organize own work and coordinate work activities of others. |
| |
Demonstrated experience to successfully input and retrieve online data. |
| |
Knowledge of library and cataloging terminology. |

Some college course work. |

Experience in higher education. |

Considerable knowledge of cataloging policies and procedures. |
