Job Summary

Receive, sort and distribute U.S. and intercampus Mail, UPS and Freight Shipments for Pew campus, Operate high-volume copy machines and finishing equipment.

Essential Functions

  • Receive, sort and distribute all mail.
  • Operate the high volume production copiers making adjustments to machines and originals to produce the best product possible.
  • Help with cash collections and minor repairs on convenience copiers.
  • Ship, receive and distribute all UPS shipments.
  • Receive and record all freight shipments.
  • Notify Pew Campus tenants of the arrival of shipments.
  • Help oversee the condition of all the receiving areas.
  • Help oversee the customer service related activities of the mailroom and copy center.
  • Instruct student employees in proper procedures and safety measures on equipment.
  • Help train and supervise student and temporary employees.

Non-Essential Functions

  • Pick-up and deliver copy centers jobs to and from offices.
  • Oversee copy center/mailroom operations in the absence of supervisor.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years relevant work experience.
  • Excellent communications skills, strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to provide quality customer service.
  • Ability to maintain a highly organized work environment and to effectively manage people to obtain desired results.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule with some evening and weekend hours if necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Some college course work. Experience in higher education.

Supervision Received

Receives supervision and work assignments from a designated supervisor, although other staff members in the unit may provide work direction.

Supervision Exercised

May be responsible for the coordination of work assignments for student employees.
