Every housing area is staffed with a variety of Housing and Residence Life student and professional employees. The name of each staff member’s name along with contact information is posted in the lobby of each living area. The Resident Assistants (RA) and Multicultural Assistants (MA) will be introducing themselves at check-in and as they visit the residents in their rooms during the move-in process. Each living area has a graduate assistant and professional staff member working along side the students. Also, each living area has a staff member available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. . What is an RA? RAs are upperclass, undergraduate, students that live in the freshman living areas. They contribute to a positive community living experience by serving as a campus resource for first- year students, and through coordinating social and academic activities for residents. . What is a MA? MAs are accessible to help with campus issues and to offer opportunities for students to increase their intercultural awareness. . What is a Graduate Assistant? A graduate assistant works with the students to ensure that the front desk is functioning properly and helps ensure the success of the residents residing in on-campus housing. Staff are listed in our directory as Assistant Living Center Directors. . What is an Administrative Professional Staff Member? The professional staff also works with the students living on-campus. They are full-time administrators who are responsbile for fostering the development of the students in their area.
