University Skills and Requirements
Basic Skills
Some students come into the Frederik Meijer Honors College with advanced placement credit fulfilling the writing (WRT 150) or mathematics (MTH 110) basic skills requirements.
Writing
WRT 150 Strategies in Writing: Fulfilled when a student has AP English credits (with a score of 4 or 5), obtains a B or better grade for an Honors Arts and Humanities sequence, or has passed the CLEP test.
Supplemental Writing Skills (SWS): Fulfilled when a student has completed an Honors Arts and Humanities sequence.
Mathematical Sciences
You can fulfill the mathematical sciences requirement with any one of the following courses:

Other Requirements
All students are also required to fulfill two diversity requirements, one U.S. Diversity and one World Perspective. Students do not need to take Honors courses to fulfill these requirements. Options are listed below.

The following is an example of how a course is noted for fulfilling the U.S. Diversity in the Undergraduate & Graduate Catalog:
SOC 280 Social Problems. Examines a range of social conditions, arrangements, and behaviors typically defined as problems in modern society. Applies sociological analysis to understand how problems arise from the organization of society, and the processes by responses to social problems. Fulfills the Social Sciences Foundation. Fulfills the U.S. Diversity requirement. Three credits. Offered every semester.
