Update on Apiary: Follow the Beekeepers Blog!
Date: January 14, 2013
This is the first winter for Grand Valley's Holland apiary. Are you wondering how the bees are doing? GVSU Beekeepers keep a blog that updates the community on the bees and their wellbeing. So, what is the latest update? The Glass (small) hive has lots of activity! The Smart (big) hive has less activity and there is a belief that the queen might have left that hive. To keep updated on the bees and the GVSU Beekeepers please visit: http://gvbees.wordpress.com/2013/01/10/january-quick-peak-january-9-2013/
Why do we care so much about honeybees? There are many reasons. One reason is because 1/3 of the human diet is pollinated from insects and 80% of that pollinated food comes from honey bees.
