Respiratory protection violations from the MIOSHA Enforcement Division have always been in the top 10 occupational health violations that are issued every year. When engineering controls are not effective the use of respiratory protection is crucial for protecting employee's health while performing their assigned duties in adverse atmospheres that could contain elevated levels of gases, fumes, vapors and particulates. This course will cover the most frequently cited violations, and elements of a respiratory protection program following Michigan's Part 451-Respiratory Protection (Rule 1910.134) and how to develop a site-specific respirator program.
