The Community Service Learning Center at GVSU is coordinating students, faculty, and staff to volunteer with Rays of Hope for Haiti, a Grand Rapids based nonprofit organization with experience in shipping humanitarian aid and relief supplies to Haiti for the past ten years. They have sent out an urgent request for immediate assistance for the people of Haiti, and the CSLC encourages GVSU to help answer this call! Volunteers are needed now, but will also be needed on an on-going basis for the coming months ahead.  Please consider being a part of local the relief efforts.

Volunteers are needed on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 10:00 am to 1:15pm to help sort, box, and label relief goods in their warehouse. Individuals with a background in health care (ie. nursing students, etc) are especially encouraged to volunteer to help sort medical supplies. Although the organization can accommodate a large number of volunteers, we kindly ask that you sign up in advance to avoid turning away volunteers on site due to building capacity.  Note that the warehouse is unheated; please dress warm.

SIGN UP BY CALLING THE CSLC at 616-331-2468 or service@gvsu.edu (include your name, email address, phone number). For the Saturday volunteer shifts, please contact the CLSC by 5pm on the Friday prior.
