Farmers Market starts June 5- Tim Selgo to Emcee 2nd Summer Grill Challenge

Faculty and staff will be showing their skills on the grill in the second Summer Grill Challenge during the opening day of the GVSU Farmers Market June 5th. Tim Selgo, Athletic Director for GVSU will be Emceeing the event.

During the month of May, Faculty and staff submit their healthiest grill recipes. Three will be chosen to grill during the Farmers Market opening day. Market attendees can purchase samples and round out their lunch with side items available from Campus Dining for $6. All proceeds from the lunch will benefit the Children's Enrichment Center and GVSU Student Food Pantry.

The first grill challenge, held in August last year raised $400 for the Student Food Pantry. Libby Bonnell of Admissions took home the title of ultimate grill master with her “Greek Chicken with Lemon Rice” recipe.

GVSU 403(b) Plan Update

This note brings news concerning Grand Valley’s 403(b) and 457(b) Retirement Plans (the “plans”). In 2012 the GVSU Retirement Plan Investment Committee introduced a new diversified fund line-up of best-in-class investment options provided by Fidelity Investments and TIAA-CREF that we identified as the Core Fund Menu.

As part of the Committee’s commitment to our plan participants we actively evaluate the funds in the core menu for organizational and management team stability, investment style and diversification consistency and performance metrics including benchmark index, risk and cost. The committee has determined that based on performance and management stability the TCW Small Cap Growth Fund should be replaced. The Committee evaluated replacement funds with similar characteristics and selected the Eagle Small Cap Growth Fund for addition to the core menu.

What is changing?

¾ The TCW Small Cap Growth Fund (TGSCX) will be replaced by the Eagle Small Cap Growth Fund (HSRSX).

When is this happening?

¾ The TCW Small Cap Growth Fund will be closed with all existing balances transferred at the close of the market on March 21, 2013.

What must I do?

¾ You have the option to transfer balances out of the TCW Small Cap Growth fund at any time prior to March 21, 2013, if you so choose.

¾ If you do nothing, your current fund balances will be transferred to the Eagle Small Cap Growth Fund at the close of the market on March 21, 2013.

¾ Your ongoing contributions to the TCW Small Cap fund will be redirected to the Eagle Small Cap Growth fund.
