Q: Is there a driving force behind your healthy lifestyle? Was it a person in your life, a certain event, were you brought up in a healthy environment? What makes you a healthy individual? A: I was introduced to bicycling when my neighbor gave me his "old" Schwinn ten speed bike. I took it completely apart, put it back together, and discovered speed and freedom under my own power & To this day, riding a bicycle hard replaces all manner of things that are bad for me and helps me know the gift of life when I see it.
Q: How would you encourage another person to pursue a healthy lifestyle? A: All things being equal, if you found yourself in a life or death situation, who would you expect to have the best chance of survival, a fit person or a sedentary person stuck an unhealthy lifestyle? Life-threatening illness, a car crash, a house fire. I like my chances. I urge people to improve theirs. Q: What activities do you engage in to reduce stress? A: Cycling. Teaching.
