About Our Work Life Program

In the 40 years since GVSU was established, we have been fortunate to see a continually increasing diverse workforce. Home and life dynamics have changed substantially over the years and with change has developed the need for new services that address the issues in our work and life.  GVSU recognizes that the demands and challenges of life that faculty and staff encounter today are more complex. 

GVSU has hired a Work Life Consultant, Sue Sloop, for the Work Life Connections program. Her background and experience include:

• Bachelors of Science degree in Human Services from Ferris State University and an elementary teaching certificate from Grand Valley State University
• Registered Social Worker with the state of Michigan
• Medical Social Worker for Spectrum Health
• Work and Family Services Department, Spectrum Health, as a Resource Specialist

• Member of CUWFA - College and University Work Family Association
